Laurel Anne Boyd has been creating dances in her head, sharing her love for music and dance, and performing in concerts for as long as she can remember. After earning her BFA in Dance from UMass Amherst in 1997, she went on to earn her MFA in Choreography and Performance from Smith College in 2000. Since then she has been performing, teaching and creating work with former professors, fellow artists and students in various private schools, local dance studios, and colleges such as Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Keene State College, Chaos Theory Dance Company, Northfield Mount Hermon School, Deerfield Academy, Amherst Ballet, Karen’s Dance Studio, and the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet. Laurel was the Director of Dance at the Williston Northampton School from 2007 until 2015 where the earliest iterations of the Summer Dance Intensive were hosted. When she’s not teaching and choreographing dances, she can be found in Vinyasa yoga classes. She lives in Florence with her daughter, Charlotte and her mini poodle, Lulu.
